Abstract
This study aims to determine elementary school teachers› perceptions of the extent of bullying among students with communication disorders using a quantitative descriptive method. A total of 248 male and female public elementary school teachers from Jeddah were included in the study. A questionnaire comprising three sections, namely type of disorder, students› age, and types of bullying, was used. The results revealed that the sample›s average responses on the three main parts focused on the average degree of bullying. There were significant differences in the study sample›s responses to bullying based on the type of disorder. The most statistically significant differences between voice disorder and hearing disorder were in favor of voice disorders. No significant differences were found in bullying based on gender or age. However, in terms of the types of bullying, physical bullying was significantly more common than verbal bullying. This study highlights the importance of raising awareness about bullying among students with communication disorders. In addition, the study recommends implementing policies to develop a sense of belonging, loyalty, and cooperation among students for establishing a secure school environment.
