Abstract

The current study aimed to identify the characteristics of all studies related to the strategic leadership in education in Saudi Digital Library database in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from 2011 to 2022; and the prevailing trend of those studies and the research issues addressed in them. A content analysis card was used as a research tool in the study. A sample of 15 scientific studies, including one Ph.D. thesis and one master›s thesis. The findings showed that the superiority of the scientific studies published by 13; there was a discrepancy in the variables dependent on strategic leadership; most studies dealt with the strategic leadership in the decade’s second half from 2017 to 2022 were 13 studies and scientific theses; the educational stages that received attention in scientific studies were those of higher education (eight scientific studies), dominated by female category; nine studies of females replaced the category of males based on the variable of study preparers; the gender of the researcher who prepared the scientific research coincided with the gender of the target group in scientific studies and theses; the most targeted category in scientific studies was the category of faculty members; most of the research methods the studies dealt with were descriptive or analytical (14 studies); a relational descriptive approach and a moral dimension were clear to a large extent only in one study and scientific theses of strategic leadership in educational institutions in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; and the findings of 10 studies showed a higher practice in strategic leadership in educational institutions while five studies showed a medium training.
